After several of my readers suggested that I include their favorite Pennsylvania photo locations in a newsletter covering autumn color across the state, I decided that it was time to return to Pennsylvania. Since it is impossible to travel the whole state during the few short days at the peak of autumn color, I limited my explorations to the mountainous northern regions along the Pennsylvania-New York state border. My plan included traveling east along State Highway 6 with side trips into the areas where I found the best color, to the north and south of the highway.

In this newsletter, I've written about my discoveries and my photographs and the changes I made to my itinerary as I headed east along my favorite kinds of roads, narrow mountain byways lined with autumn foliage.
