The main attractions here for photographers are the Granite Dells. Weathered granite boulders, stacked along Granite Creek, create a landscape of balancing stones.

The main attractions here for photographers are the Granite Dells. Thousands of weathered granite boulders are stacked along Granite Creek, creating an incredible landscape of balancing stones. Many of these stones are fractured vertically and appear to be balancing. Concentrations of these balancing boulders are located at the north end of Watson Lake, created in 1916 when Granite Creek was dammed to create a reservoir to provide irrigation for agricultural projects in the Chino Valley to the north of Prescott. The area at the north end of Watson Lake is called the Granite Dells. |
