I recently returned to photograph some Las Vegas landmarks I remembered, like Fremont Street, the Neon Museum, and some new additions like the Stratosphere Tower, new cars on the NY NY roller coaster, and the new Shark Reef Aquarium in Mandalay Bay. During a two-day drive from home, my plans were changing as I approached the sprawling city now covering most of the surrounding deserts. My new plan was to stay out of the city and explore and photograph remote ghost towns, wildlife refuges, and scenic landscapes in the mountains around Las Vegas.
