157 - The Oregon Cascades
From the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Utah’s Wasatch Range to the Rockies and the Adirondacks, I have done a lot of hiking as I’ve explored America. On this ten-day photo trip through Oregon’s Cascades, I hiked trails across ancient lava flows through dense forests and camped beside mountain lakes that were once volcanic craters. Newcomers will find much to photograph, from the edge of Oregon’s Malheur Desert to the Pacific Coast where winter storms crash onto remote beaches. Check your calendar to plan a photo trip for intense displays of autumn color, winter landscapes, or a white-water canoe trip on the Forth of July.
