While planning a trip to British Columbia for some spring wildflower photography, I discovered that my passport had expired. To renew an expired passport nowadays, it has to be done online. Great, I thought, I can get this done quickly and hit the road. My plans changed when I read the fine print and discovered that the waiting time for a renewed passport was 15 weeks. The spring wildflower season on Mount Revelstoke would be over by then. I changed my destination to California’s Feather River Canyon to drive Highway 70 to the edge of Nevada. That plan changed too.
