 Issue #079 - Back to the Islands: Kauai/Molokai Clouds were casting shadows across Kauai’s Na Pali Cliffs, so I waited until the sun dropped to the horizon. The last, low rays of sunlight streamed in across the ocean below the clouds, striking the cliffs and lighting up the bottom of the clouds, and turning them orange and red. I waited for the sun to drop toward the horizon and for the clouds to move into better positions. After the sun drops below the horizon, I always wait twenty minutes for the best colors, when extra-warm light passes through more of the Earth’s atmosphere to paint the bottoms of clouds with more vivid shades of red.
