After two months of COVID-19 quarantine I am going stir crazy. I am filling most of the time scanning old color slides and digitizing hundreds of 2-1/4 color negatives. According to my calendar, I should be in Georgia right now photographing Old Car City–acres and acres of old cars rusting away in a forest a few miles north of Atlanta.
With the airlines almost completely shut down, and some bad weather across the southeast, I am stuck in my house and my backyard, an acre of oaks across a steep hillside. Since my dog sleeps all day, he wakes me at 6:00 AM. We climb the hill at dawn to watch the rising sun light up the tops of hundred-year-old trees for our sunrise photo sessions. |
